Iker Casillas has joined in the general criticism of Sergio Busquets for the incident in which he stamped on Pepe: "The footage is there, it speaks for itself. Obviously Pepe has the support of all his teammates. There's no need to go into it any further. It's something that happens in the heat of the moment. In my opinion, what Busi did wasn't right, but what happens on the field has to stay there. When I see him I'll give him a clip round the ear and that's it".
Asked about Cristiano not travelling to Anoeta and whether 'La Liga' is taking a backseat for him, he said, "I don't think so, I think Cris took the decision not to go to San Sebastián tomorrow because he can't; he has proved over the past five years that he is always ready to put the effort in and, if he takes a break, it's because it is unavoidable".
On the debate raging over the Real goal: "Those who were criticising you before are now calling for you to be given starter status. When you play for Madrid, it's always up for discussion. The coach is the one who has decided to go for Diego in 'La Liga' and me in the Cupand Champions league games, and for it to continue like that. I think Diego deserves all our support and respect from start to finish. What I am trying to do is be competitive".
Commenting on the rumours about his future: "My wish is to stay here to see out my contract; but the important thing right now is to finish the season, to enjoy it and hope for very positive results".
On his new role in the team:
"I've been playing the 'Copa' and Champions League games since the beginning of the season, and it's true that it's not like it has been in previous years, but it's been good for me and things have gone very well".
