The front page of 'Bild' newspaper lead with the headline "Dortmund sunk". "No hope for the return leg" read the photo caption.
"Instead of being a magical night for Dortmund, Real Madrid provided all the magic. Marco Reus could not do anything on his own," the newspaper printed on its sports pages. The online edition of 'Kicker' magazine was less conclusive despite describing the return leg as a "Herculean task" for Dortmund. "Dortmund sailed into last season's final despite losing the return leg 2-0 in Madrid, having won the first leg 4-1," said Kicker.
