Marco Reus has declared that Dortmund shouldn't have any problems finding a substitute for Lewandowski, who is sanctioned for this Wednesday's game at the Bernabéu. The German player is on splendid form after scoring a hat-trick against Stuttgart last weekend in the Bundesliga, and assures that between all of them, someone can be found to take the Pole's place.
"Robert played very well last year, he has been very important to us and we will have to fill the position he has left", he said. "On Saturday, we played very well and put in a good performance against Stutttgart. This game is very different; we know that Real are very strong as a team and individually. That said, they have their weaknesses and we have to take advantage of them when they appear", he said.
The player went on to compare this season's Real Madrid with that of last year, pointing out that the club has signed some "very good players" that have changed their style. "Perhaps they now play with a different system and this year they're different. The changes made haven't been that great, mind. We'll be going into tomorrow's game with a very positive attitude", he assured.
"We've already played twice at the Bernabéu and we know what to expect. We know how the game will go here; we have to show our best game. We have come with the intention of creating as many problems as possible for Real Madrid to beat them", he added.
"Deep down, we're feeling really good about this game because we know that we've beaten Real before. This is another opportunity and we're fully revved up to do it again". He concluded.
